is the download counter not working? if so, is there any estimate as to when it might be fixed? just wondering...

Please, Fix It Soon. The Download Counter Doesn't work since (at least) a week... and it's important to Control Difussion... One of The Essences of the Archive...

yeah, thanks. also, as a general question, if one simply reads a text online, does that also count as a download, or does one have to literally "download" it in one of the listed formats like PDF or Kindle or DjVu, etc.?

downloads and streams are counted. Remember though, only 1 download per item, per IP, per day. In audio items, the first file streamed is counted but subsequent files are not. The download count is at the item level.
